About:

From a young age, I have always been called to the art world and would spend much of my time drawing, painting and diving into literature. My imagination would take me visually into other worlds and my creativity was the physical vehicle for that.

When I got into my early twenties I took a steer away from the traditional painting world and began a career that spanned over 10 years as a print designer in fashion.

Through many personal journeys and awakenings during this period of time, the painting and abstract world felt like it was always rumbling beneath my feet, like a siren that stayed with me -calling me back.

When I took the step to return to the painting, I decided oil painting would be my medium - with the colours so rich and pure it was a medium I could use in many ways and would allow me a lot of freedom to experiment.

Moving away from traditional art school theory - my paintings represent a world within me. Like a lot of creativity - they can become emotional markers much like a diary entry of where you were at that time in life.

I mainly paint large scale pieces, with a palette knife using thick layers to create texture and form. Some work is built from my imagination where maybe a piece of inspiration from art, music, writing or film will spark a thought, whilst some other shapes and forms come to me in dreams or visions.

The work has a very spiritual element to it, returning to painting and allowing myself to show up as I naturally am has been a very important journey for me and one that has been deeply healing in my own personal life. I hope that when people see my work in person they feel the frequency and vibration of how healing the work is for to create.
